Members of this group include public health professionals that specialize in women and drug using populations, addiction and treatment services, HIV/AIDS services for IV drug users, mental health, harm reduction measures such as needle exchange and methadone maintenance, Medicaid and other public assistance healthcare services, and representatives of government health agencies.

This working group will discuss the role of public health systems in responding to women's involvement with drugs and conceptualize strategies both to improve current services for women and families and to shift responses to women's drug use away from the criminal justice system and towards a comprehensive public health model.
